How can a gift as small as $2.50 do much good?
If I have $75 to give, surely that won't make much of a difference will it?
Before buying that coffee or new pair of sneakers today, think about YOUR BIG IMPACT on even one pet at Bridge Boarding! Bridge Boarding is 100% donor funded (we do not receive any county funds to run Bridge) and on average about 90 pets (cats and dogs) rely on this facility for housing prior to rescue transport or as a temporary safe spot to overcome emotional or medical challenges.
Bridge Boarding directly saves lives by freeing up much needed space at the shelter. Every pet who is at Bridge, means one more empty kennel at the shelter. Space equals life when the shelter is crowded and animal control pulls up with another pet in need.
$2.50 covers the cost of ONE DAY of boarding.
$70 covers a month of care for one pet at Bridge.
What is Bridge Boarding?
Bridge Boarding is a transitional facility that takes in and cares for pets who have rescue and are waiting for their transport ride and pets who have special medical and or emotional needs. Bridge Boarding directly saves lives by freeing up much needed space at the shelter so we have room to take in that next pet in need. Bridge Boarding is 100% supported by donations only. We do not receive any county funds to keep this life saving facility open.
Why are you asking for help again? Didn't you just ask me to give?
We would not ask if we did not NEED YOUR SUPPORT! And yes, we JUST ended a campaign to benefit Bridge Boarding but the need is on going and donations to Bridge Boarding are just off. On average, it costs $1500 a WEEK to keep Bridge Boarding open.
Are you in it to help to make a BIG DIFFERENCE?
No gift is too small or too large and it all adds up!! Our modest goal of $2400 during this 24 hour period of giving is attainable IF we all chipin and spread the word! Help us, help our homeless by giving now. Be a hero by donating to support Bridge Boarding on this #GivingTuesday!
SUCCESS STORIES: Our scrolling photo gallery features pets who benefitted from Bridge Boarding. Injured Elmer was hit by a car and his leg could not be saved. He is now home for the holidays. Darlington County Humane Society- Rescue
About the Organization
DCHS-Rescue is a 501 c (3) located in Darlington SC. We are a dedicated team of volunteers whose goal is to reduce the euthanasia rate at our high kill shelter, improve the health of all shelter pets by providing veterinary and medical care and provide a safe boarding area at our Bridge Boarding facility while waiting to transport to approved Rescue partners. Due to low adoption rates, we rely heavily on rescues to pull and save our pets.
