Campaign Details
Our sixth annual Summer Smile Campaign is underway, and we need your help to make this the best year yet! Our goal is to raise $25,000 for our dental fund, so even more old dogs get to experience new smiles and brighter tomorrows. One of the biggest expenses facing shelters and rescues that care for senior dogs is the high cost of dental care. In fact, lack of dental care is a major barrier to adoption, and the inability to provide necessary dental care is a common reason for owners to surrender their dog. Grey Muzzle's dental fund--made possible by your generous support--is working to change that.
Whether they have a gapped tooth grin or a classic snaggle-tooth smirk, we invite you to join us in ensuring hundreds of senior dogs get the dental care they need and deserve. Every dollar raised through our Summer Smile Campaign funds life-changing dental care for at-risk old dogs. You can help senior dogs not only to feel better but also to find – or stay in – a loving home. PLUS, thanks to the generosity of the Cook Family, the Piskorski Family, and Pawsomely Healthy, your donation will be matched, dollar for dollar. That means your gift has twice the smile power--turning $25,000 into $50,000--to help senior dogs in desperate need of dental care
About the 2022 Calendar Contest
Show off your grey muzzle's smile for a cause! When you support the Summer Smile Campaign, you can enter your senior dog's smile in our 2022 calendar contest. Simply make a tax-deductible donation to our Summer Smile campaign, and then upload your favorite picture of your super senior pup on our campaign's GivingGrid platform. At the end of the campaign, our Advisory Board members will choose their favorite photos to be featured in our 2022 Grey Muzzle calendar. A collage of the entire GivingGrid—including all of the pictures submitted—will be featured for December!
Endings to Smile About
All of the funds raised through the Summer Smile campaign build brighter tomorrows by giving new smiles to at-risk senior dogs like Lil' Kim.
Lil Kim arrived as a stray at the Maui Humane Society in Hawaii with a mouthful of missing, broken, and loose teeth. Ouch! Thanks to you, a Grey Muzzle dental grant ensured Lil' Kim got the dental care she had gone without for so long.
Dental surgery may have removed her last eight teeth, but after some much deserved rest and relaxation and oodles of TLC in her foster home, Lil Kim has the best reason to smile. She got adopted! Now known as Kimmy, she is a much loved and greatly treasured member of the family. Talk about a bright future full of endless things to smile about.
P.S. In Hawaii, seniors are called "kapuna." As Kimmy is a kapuna, and her adopter is a kapuna, we think they are a kapuna match made in heaven.
The Grey Muzzle Organization
About the Organization
Grey Muzzle improves the lives of at-risk senior dogs by providing funding and resources to animal shelters, rescues, and nonprofits nationwide. We are not a shelter or rescue. Rather, Grey Muzzle grants provide critically needed medical and dental treatments; foster and hospice care; adoption promotions; and programs that help keep old dogs in good homes. Our vision is a world where every senior dog thrives, and no old dog dies alone and afraid.
