Campaign Details
Over the last six years Amanda Evans Lang has partnered with the Good Samaritan School to raise awareness and support for the children rising out of extreme poverty in the slums of India . In this second children's book benefitting GSS, she has had the privilege of creating a new way to share the precious and inspiring story that has played out over the last 3 years as the school went from a small garage, to slum's the toilet complex, tents, on the street, and finally to an amazing complex serving 2000 students!
In September 2019, the children's book Sadie and the School that Love Built launched in the US. We are so excited to head to the school it honors in India in February 2020. Our greatest hope is to present every child with their own book. These first-generation-learners will be the first person in their family to ever own a book. How incredible is it that we get to honor their resiliency with a story that they are a part of and encourage them as they raise themselves out of extreme poverty through pursuing an education? Pretty incredible!
We are in need of partners who value education, dignity, mercy, and hope. We need stakeholders who believe that it is possible to end extreme poverty and who see education as a powerful vehicle to change lives for generations to come.
Following the launch in India, we will continue working to tether families' heart's the to practice of generosity, service, and loving those in need.
