Let's save Otters!

The International Otter Survival Fund (IOSF) is dedicated to the conservation, protection and care of otters, based on over 20 years of worldwide scientific research. Otters are ambassadors to a healthy environment which is important for all species, including our own.

Worldwide, 12 of the 13 species have a declining population. With your help we can curb this trend and start getting populations of these wonderful animals increasing again.

Campaign Details

Your donations will go a long way to helping otters around the world. IOSF has worked across the globe and in all continents where otters can be found.

Locally, IOSF has a rehabilitation centre where orphaned and injured otters are treated and cared for before being released back to the wild where they belong. As Eurasian Otters, the otter native to the UK, stays with their mother for 12-15 months our otters stay with us for the same time period. With feed, heating, bedding, vet fees, rearing ONE otter from a cub to release can cost around 1000 ($1300). Your donations will go towards rearing these young, and orphaned, otters to adulthood and back to the wild!

IOSF's efforts in saving otters spread far and wide, just like the otter. The International Otter Survival Fund has been directly involved in work in 58 different countries across the globe. From aiding individuals rear otter cubs, training workshops to educate locals in conservation efforts and avoiding a conflict with otters and fighting the illegal trade, IOSF is always there to help otters in need. All of this worldwide work costs money and your donation will help massively in stopping the decline in otter populations, care for individual animals and prevent the illegal trade in otters for fur and pets.
