LIVING IN FILTH AND SQUALOR

Urgent help needed for BEAU 💔!

This is Beau! This poor guy was being given away for free on Craigslist like an old suitcase. We got a call last night from a local ACO asking us to step up, in fear he would end up in the wrong hands. Free dogs on Craigslist is extremely dangerous, as dogs end up in scary places but when we arrived to pick him up we realized he was already in a scary predicament and this quickly became a rescue mission.

This is Beau 💔

This poor guy was being given away for free on Craigslist like an old suitcase. We got a call last night from a local ACO asking us to step up, in fear he would end up in the wrong hands. Free dogs on Craigslist is extremely dangerous, as dogs end up in scary places but when we arrived to pick him up we realized he was already in a scary predicament and this quickly became a rescue mission.Beau did nothing wrong other than end up in the hands of someone who didn’t deserve him. He was living in absolute filth.

Beau has endured great suffering, most of his life was spent neglected and abused. He has lived outside his entire life.  He has puss oozing from his eyes and skin and is crusted over with yeast and mange.  He has entropion in both eyes, which is a painful condition that causes the eyelids to roll inward. This makes the eyelashes and other hair around the eyes rub on the cornea (the eye covering), leading to irritation and blindness. He needs double eye surgery to repair this condition. He is in so much pain he won't open his eyes.  He of course s heartworm positive.  His ears are so full of yeast and black crud they need to literally be chipped away at while he is sedated.  He is loaded with parasites and fleas.  Beau is miserable.  We got him to the vet first thing this am where he is being worked on to try and provide some sort of immediate relief but he has a very long road ahead of him.  We contacted local law enforcement this morning and they are starting an investigation into Beau's history.

We stepped up for them to ensure his safety but we actually ended up saving his life.   Please consider donating today to help Beau.

How could anyone live with themselves after doing this to a dog? We will do anything possible to pull Beau through this horrific abuse

About the Organization

The mission of Hounds in Pounds is to end the killing of thousands of adoptable dogs in the United States. Our multi-faceted approach combining rescue, fostering, adoption, spay/neuter outreach and public education. HIPsters are transported to private veterinarians for proper medical treatment, and are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and tested for heartworm before being placed into loving homes.

    Update-Beau

Beau has started his healing journey and is in good spirits. Folks, he was absolutely miserable and in pain.  His foster mom said he's so sweet and is grateful to her for helping him feel better.  He has received a cocktail of anti-itch and fungal meds which brought him immediate relief.  He is receiving medical baths three times a week and his skin is already starting to look better.  He will need double entropion surgery which we cannot schedule until his skin is in better shape and his immune system is boosted.  He has been started on doxy as part of his HW treatment and will receive his injections on schedule.

We found out his previous owner had him for less than a year.  We cannot imagine the conditions he was living in to spiral to this condition. No dog deserves this.  They are innocent and beautiful creatures who trust us to do right and every day we see them tormented and tortured.    Beau is one of the lucky ones, our hearts ache for the ones who are forgotten about.

Thank you all for saving Beau.  He is only safe and receiving the care he needs because of ya'll.  Thank you for rising to the call again, your love saved his life. Ya'll are amazing.
