The Ones Nobody Wants on GivingTuesday!

The ones nobody wants…it's a heartbreaking crisis. Shelters are way over capacity and so are we. There aren't enough fosters or simply rescue spaces, much less enough funds to help dogs that need us.

And so they wait, hoping someone will give them a second chance before their life is taken. We step up for any dog that needs a second chance, but especially for the ones nobody wants.

Help us on Giving Tuesday to make those second chances a reality.

Campaign Details

Lizzy’s Lodge is drawn to the dogs nobody wants.  Toby, Freckles and Hailey were living in a horse stall for weeks with little food and water and no human contact. Buddy and Cricket were abandoned on the street.  Pepper was left roaming on a farm.  Bingo, Chloe, Josie, and Virginia were in a shelter with just hours to live.  Frankie at 8 weeks old was headed to a shelter with a low rate of survival.

Nobody wanted any of them.  Their wounds are not visible, but their pain, distrust and fear are real.  They have a variety of health issues, heartworm disease the most common.  They need time to heal, time to let their sadness fade, and time to learn to accept love.   These dogs and so many others find that time and care with us.  But we need your help.

November 28th is Giving Tuesday. It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good and help others.  By supporting Lizzy’s Lodge, you are helping these and other dogs that nobody wants to have a second chance.  They need us and we can’t turn them away.

You can help in two ways:  GIVE whatever amount you can to this campaign and then SHARE the campaign with others that you think may want to help as well.  We are so grateful for your support and the commitment to the animals in our community.

Together we can help these amazing dogs that nobody wants, and so many others like them, to have that second chance for a new life and the future they were always meant to have.

About the Organization

Lizzy's Lodge Rescue takes dogs from high-kill shelters, hoarding, abuse, neglect and abandonment situations. Many are simply unwanted and discarded. Our dogs are often so fearful and shut down, they won't interact with people. We give dogs the medical care and whatever time they need to heal physically and emotionally, and to develop the confidence to settle into a new, loving home and the happy life they were always meant to have.
