Houston Dogs - We're Coming!

The Joshua Fund Dog Rescue is based in upstate New York. We have rescued many dogs from the South but Houston's need is so great, we want to rescue more from shelters in and around Houston. There are an estimated 2 million stray dogs in that city and their shelters are always over capacity. Euthanasia rates are staggering and very few dogs get adopted.

Please help us save as many lives as we can from death row - we can't do this without you!

Campaign Details

NEVER BEFORE IN THE HISTORY of The Joshua Fund Dog Rescue have we set our sights on making an impact in the lives of shelter dogs at one time! Dan Bain, founder of our Rescue is going with a small team of volunteers to Houston Texas on June 9. We want to rescue as many dogs & puppies (that we have funding and foster homes for) from death row. We've been working on this for weeks, putting our own money together for plane tickets, lodging, transportation, food and incidentals. Not one single penny is coming out of the Rescue funds - we're paying for this trip out of our own pockets.

When we get to Houston, we're going to meet with our Houston team of fosters and volunteers to go into the shelters and walk every square inch looking for the dogs and puppies who will likely never make it out of these shelters alive unless WE get them out.

We are begging for your help to make this happen.

Every rescue costs us a minimum of $350 for "Vetting." That includes a thorough exam by a Veterinarian, treatment for ticks/fleas, blood tests for heart worm and other parasitic diseases. We have tests done for intestinal parasites, skin conditions and other diseases that plague dogs from Texas. Treatment begins immediately to get them healthy and they are also spayed/neutered. If a dog tests positive for heart worm disease (90% of the dogs we rescue test positive) then we have to add $750 to that total. After quarantine is served to prevent any diseases from coming North, the transportation cost averages $150+

Our adoption fees are a small fraction of what each dog or puppy costs us to rescue.

Please help us save lives by clicking on a square and making your donation. You can upload your own photo to the square (there are instructions when you donate) to show that you donated.

Please share this fund-raiser everywhere you can. The more people who know about it, the more awareness we can bring to the plight of Houston dogs and the more funding we can generate for the dogs!

You may also donate by mail to The Joshua Fund Dog Rescue PO Box 408 Jay, NY 12941

** The photos you see are of dogs & puppies we have saved. Some of them were in deplorable condition and are now on their way to health. Most of these dogs and puppies now have wonderful Forever Homes and some of them are still in Foster Care awaiting their Forever Love! **
