Campaign Details
Oakland Family Services' goal this #GivingTuesday, is to bring awareness to the community of the effects of opioid use, depression, anxiety and trauma. As suicide rates and opioid use increases, we need financial support to make sure we are able to help everyone who needs us. When the parents in a family are struggling, that impacts a child. The person that is struggling isn't the only one affected.
Just because a person may not be able to pay for the services does not mean that there isn't a need for them. Oakland Family Services and Day One recognize that the need for services exist and people need our help, even if they don't have insurance. Our goal this #GivingTuesday is to raise $3,000, which could mean as many as 100 counseling sessions for people whose insurance does not cover the full cost of a session or people who cannot afford the full cost of a session. In a time when opioid addiction has reached epidemic levels and when suicide is one of the main causes of death for young people, we want to make sure that people have access to these crucial services.
