Beating the Drum

I know you have been there. It all comes in threes. Two of the staffs computers died on Monday, Wednesday our snowblower died before the snowstorm, and then our commercial dryer got a hole in it and it is not under warranty.

Would you consider helping us replace the $2,500 drum and the two computers that were $1800? Not only will you be helping us keep caring for the pets, but you can honor a furry pet or someone special that loves animals with your donation. We receive no tax dollars or funding from any animal welfare organization. We have been serving Sheboygan County for over 60 years by the generosity of animal lovers like you.

I know you have been there. It all comes in threes. Two of the staffs computers died after 11 years on Monday, on Wednesday the shelter snowblower died before the snowstorm, and then our huge commercial dryer we use nonstop got a hole in it and it is not under warranty.

Our dryers at the shelter run almost nonstop, so the $2,500 for the Speed Queen dryer drum replacement was not something we expected on a newer dryer. Did you know we wash all the bedding, blankets, and toys from every kennel, every day? Why? It is our cleaning protocol, so we do not get sick animals in the shelter because when one gets sick, they all get sick. In December, we were caring for an average of 250 in house animals a day.

Our computers help us process adoption applications, reply to requests, log our medical care of all our pets and are indispensable in the work we do. As a nonprofit we try to be frugal and use our resources for as long as we can, but apparently 11 years was too much.

Thank you for being there for the homeless and unwanted pets.
