#GivingTuesday: We Do it For Them!

Giving Tuesday was created with a simple idea: everyone has something to give and every act of generosity counts. Whether you are one of our donors, a foster, or a volunteer who transports dogs, we appreciate your generosity. And we know why you do it. You do it for them, the Brittany that is found as a stray on the street, or pulled from a shelter, or those surrendered by their owners.

Since our last Giving Tuesday, ABR has rescued nearly 300 dogs! 20% of those are seniors- the most special and expensive category. Can you please make a Giving Tuesday donation of any size so we can continue the work of rescuing Brittanys, especially Seniors?

    We raised $7,825.00!

Thank you to all the supporters that donated to our #GivingTuesday: We Do it For Them fundraiser. Thank you for understanding that our seniors have many health issues that need to be treated. And thank you for understanding that many seniors end up as "ABR Senior Forever Fosters" because, unfortunately, many adopters do not choose an older dog. ABR is happy to pay for all veterinary and rehabilitation care for the rest of their life, while the Forever Foster family concentrates on ensuring the happiest possible life for them. (If you are interested in being a foster, please let us know)

We absolutely could not do it without you.
    Thank you

Campaign Details

Since our last Giving Tuesday,  American Brittany Rescue has rescued nearly 300 dogs with 20 percent of those being seniors. These seniors range in age from 7 to over 15 years of age.

We consider senior Brittanys to be a special and precious category of Brittany! These dogs, who have given a lifetime to their owners, arrive in rescue for a variety of reasons. Some are abandoned simply because they are old, some are left behind by owners who have died, some are rejected by hunters who find they are no longer useful for the job at hand. But each one, with their lifetime of wisdom, has earned the right to a soft landing and to live out their days in peace and comfort. Can you help our seniors get the life they deserve by making a donation of any size?

Once in ABR's care, there are often many health issues that need to be treated such as dental cleaning and extractions, vaccines and heart worm testing and treatment. All health issues must be taken care of before these seniors can be posted for adoption.

Unfortunately, many adopters do not choose an older dog. For this reason, some stay in the care of the American Brittany Rescue in "senior forever foster" homes. In these cases, ABR pays for all veterinary and rehabilitation care for the rest of their life. This means the "forever foster" can concentrate on giving the best of care, ensuring the happiest possible life. It also means that the vet bills generated by our seniors are staggering!

On this Giving Tuesday, we are asking our supporters to donate to the American Brittany Rescue's Senior Fund.

Thank you!
