Yogi: A Small Senior Gentleman

Yogi, an 8-year-old dog, endured years of neglect and abuse before being rescued with his sister Ruth. Severely matted, infested with fleas and ticks, and in immense pain, Yogi's suffering was heartbreaking. A vet exam revealed chronic arthritis, dislocated kneecaps, spinal issues, and even a BB lodged in his back from being shot.

Thanks to care and treatment, Yogi is starting to feel better, but his recovery is far from over. He needs a major dental procedure, arthritis management, and ongoing medical care to live pain-free.

Yogi’s Journey to Healing: Help Us Give Him the Life He Deserves

Yogi, an 8-year-old dog, was rescued with his “sister” Ruth after enduring years of neglect. Likely kept outside for most of their lives, they faced harsh conditions with little care. When found, both were severely matted and in desperate need of attention.

Yogi’s condition was especially heartbreaking. Infested with fleas and ticks, it took days to clean him up. His matted, filthy coat masked deeper suffering. At the vet, bloodwork and x-rays revealed the grim extent of his neglect:

  • Moderate osteoarthritis in both knees due to severe, chronic luxating patellas (dislocated kneecaps).
  • Moderate spondylosis along his lumbar spine, causing significant discomfort.
  • A BB lodged between his vertebrae, evidence of intentional harm from being shot.

Despite these challenges, Yogi’s resilience shines. Thanks to anti-inflammatory meds and loving care, he’s already feeling better, even starting to run and play. However, his journey to recovery is far from over.

Yogi requires extensive medical care, including a major dental procedure with extractions, ongoing arthritis management with monthly injections like Librela, and daily medications and supplements for his pain. His treatments have been costly, and more care is needed to give him a pain-free, happy life.

With your support, Yogi can continue to heal and thrive. Your donation will go directly toward his medical treatments, medications, and the love he so deeply deserves.

Donate today to help Yogi live the rest of his life free from pain and full of joy.
