Shot through the face and neck! 💔

Urgent help needed for Max!

We're nearing the end of 2023 with one more major save.

Meet Max, we hope a resilient survivor. This brave soul faced unimaginable cruelty from a sick "person," having been shot through the face/neck, with the bullet miraculously exiting through his nose. Against all odds, he's still with us.

He was found injured and was reported to the Sheriff's Office who didn't deem him an emergency. Animal control picked him up the next day and we were contacted by the shelter begging us to help him. How could we say no to this precious boy?

Please! With your help, we can transform Max's tale of tragedy into one of triumph.

Little Max is almost adoption ready!

He’s getting a neuter next week and then will be on the hunt for a family! There’s something so very special about these pups who escaped death, so we hope you consider adding this miracle boy to your home!

    New year, new Max!

He’s leaving the bad memories of being shot and left for dead behind in 2023. Foster mom recently gave him a bath to get some of the dried blood and yuck off of him. He’s fresh ‘n clean now and feelin’ good! Hoping to get him cleared and ready for a neuter soon!

He’s got some pep in his step, and spends his days making friends with everyone in the household! Lots of goodness in store for this cutie!

    Hugs,

Despite feeling cruddy and still hurting from being shot, Max is okay! He is safe and warm, he has a full belly and people around him who love him, and he never has to worry about a thing again!

The shelter had performed the initial surgery on Max to close the bullet exit wound in his nose and pulled a few teeth that were knocked sideways by the bullet. We then picked him up and brought him to the ER for further much needed care.

He actually has four wounds from the bullet, three are now closed and the fourth was left open. There is some “communication” between one of the bullet paths and his nasal passage. When the vet flushed the open wound, saline was coming out his nose. As of now, we are waiting and hoping that scars up and heals itself, but he may need additional surgery in the near future.

Max has been discharged from the ER. He is now in foster care with a family that has no shortage of love to give and he will take things day by day. ??‍???? We know he doesn't look great at the moment, but time heals...

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for helping Max. We hope the worst is behind our precious boy and that there are no complications or additional surgeries needed.

Please have a Happy New Year!
