Nemo Needs Help To Correct A Deformity

Nemo is a 3-month old Golden Retriever/Labrador mix who was born with a deformity; he was born without a radius in his right front leg (the radius is the main weight-bearing bone).

Because of this, no one wanted to adopt Nemo. His littermates were adopted one by one, but no one wanted Nemo. Nemo's owner was planning to euthanize him, until we came along, promising to do our best to help correct his leg and find him a loving forever home.

Our veterinarian feels that the best option is to perform surgery that will strengthen Nemo's leg.

Please make a donation to help us provide Nemo with the care he needs. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Campaign Details

The veterinarian feels that two surgeries will be needed: one to fuse the wrist, and one to fuse the elbow. These will not only strengthen and help straighten Nemo's leg, but will allow him to get more function out of it, maybe about 50%. These surgeries should be done right around the time Nemo turns 6 months old. (The radius in his front left leg is much better, but not completely normal.)

We expect Nemo to be able to get around his home and yard with no problems, but he will require front wheels for walks. We are in the process of getting him all set up with wheels that will help him when he is out and about.

Nemo doesn't know that there is anything wrong with him. Please take a moment to watch one of the videos uploaded to this campaign and you'll see that Nemo loves to run around and play with the other dogs in his foster home.

Other than his leg deformity, Nemo appears to be in perfect health.

Any help you can provide means the world to Nemo. Please share his story with family and friends. Thank you!
