Max is a 9 year old miniature dachshund. Max stopped eating over the weekend & was in pain. We took him to a vet right away. Max has a compressed disk in his back. They put him on pain meds, anti-inflammatory. Doc suggests 3 things: 1. maintain him on the medications & control his activity in hopes the disk calms down & eases the pain. 2. do an MRI ($2400) to verify the severity of the compression to see if it may rupture 3. take him to Ames to see what they recommend. Sounds like it was not anything in particular that caused this, it was an underlying issue that thankfully appeared before it was life threatening. Please help pay his vet bill
