Campaign Details
We took Darla in back in Sept. 2024. She is a 3-year-old American Bulldog mix. She recently lost an extreme amount of
weight & also has severe bloody diarrhea. So far, our vet has done bloodwork, urine, fecal, & x-rays to try to determine a cause, none of which has given us a definitive answer yet. The top possibility is protein losing enteropathy. The next step to try to reach a diagnosis is an abdominal ultrasound. She is in good spirits and has a great appetite. Please help us pay these vet bills to help get her healthy & better. So far, our cost is $1,300 and there's more testing that needs to be done. Please help us help Darla. Thank you!
Next will be the abdominal ultrasound and comprehensive GI panel. Not sure on the costs of those yet. Will update this once we know more. Hopefully we can get some answers soon!

3/5/25 UPDATE: Darla is doing much better! We still need help so we can pay all her bills. Thank you!
Here is everything our vet did to figure out what was wrong with her.
We have done a pretty comprehensive GI work up so far and have next steps in place if Darla
was not responding to treatment. She appears to be responding to
treatment very well and the diarrhea has resolved according to the
foster mom and we are waiting to see if weight gain occurs.
Our diagnostics include CBC/Chemistry/T4, urinalysis, fecal,
radiographs, abdominal ultrasound, and GI panel ( Folate, Cobalamin,
cPl, TLI).
Based on these diagnostics, we are working with the presumptive
diagnosis of Food allergy and/or inflammatory bowel disease.
Treatment includes a very strict diet of Hills K9 Z/D Low Fat
(Hydrolyzed Soy) at 5 cups/day for weight gain, metronidazole (which has
since been discontinued) and a comprehensive deworming with panacur.
Next steps would be a resting cortisol and Diarrhea PCR panel, +/-
biopsy recommendations although ultrasound did not indicate at this
time. A possible prednisone trial was also discussed if she did not improve.
Our cost came to over $1,800. Please help us. Thank you!
