Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue helps when others won’t. Our budget has a $23,000 deficit and the Labs need your help.
Born with a cleft palate, Wilson was fed by tube for his first 6 weeks. Brookline rescued Wilson at just 8 weeks old and only 4lbs. He had a respiratory infection and needed surgery. Our dedicated fosters took on the challenge of a puppy needing medical care. Cuteness was his secret weapon and his playful puppy antics quickly won over everyone.
Brookline frequently takes on the challenge of Labradors needing specialized medical and behavioral care. Medical care is 55% of our expenses this year.
Because of past donations, Wilson had a chance to receive this expensive medical care costing almost $8,000 for the cleft palate surgery alone. He had many vet appointments, needed to be watched carefully, and fed special food. Since treatment for his cleft palate couldn’t happen until he gained weight and was a little older, Brookline decided to make Wilson available for adoption and offer support for his surgery.
An amazing adoptive family with experience handling medically needy dogs fell in love with Wilson and was willing to provide the care he would need for his surgery. Little Wilson underwent surgery by a veterinary dental specialist earlier this month. He is doing great with his recovery.
Donors like you have helped to save countless dogs with medical needs who would not be immediately adoptable. The cost and need have both increased. Without your help today, we will need to turn away other dogs like Wilson.
Your gift today helps the next dog obtain treatment.
Wilson found his forever home. You can make it possible for other Labs who would be left behind find their loving family.
Thank you for your gift.
