Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue helps when others won’t. All dogs in the Rescue receive veterinary care. Some need basic exams and shots. Others need more intensive care and specialized treatment. Vet costs are 61% of Brookline’s total expenses through October.
Bailey came into Brookline’s care in August after being surrendered to a shelter and needing that extra care. Years of neglect—no walks, way too many snacks—left her weighing a whopping 125 pounds with multiple health issues, including ear and skin infections, cataracts, and a painful tail cyst. Her amazing Brookline Foster Family helped Bailey begin her journey back to health. With Vet care, a prescription diet, and love, she is now down to 97 lbs. and aiming for a goal of 90 pounds.
Bailey’s ears are almost healed—a huge win—but she’s battling some additional stubborn health issues. She has a couple of draining spots on her paws, and an infection under her chin. Her Foster Family is continuing her “spa” treatments, including regular wipes and continued cleaning of infected skin. A different treatment lasting for 21 days has been prescribed for her chin infections. Side effects can be rough, but she is handling it beautifully.

Because of past donations, Bailey has a chance to receive the care she needs, which currently totals almost $5,000. The veterinary needs and costs for all the dogs have increased. Brookline’s is operating at a deficit of $32,400 through October. Without your help today, Brookline will be forced to turn away other dogs like Bailey. Your donation is critical to helping these Labs get the care they need and loving families they deserve.
Brookline’s generous donors helped to save countless dogs with medical issues who would not be immediately adoptable.
Please give today. Bailey thanks you for your support.
