"Safety for Our Best Friends!"

On Friday, March 4th someone broke into Best Friends Humane Society and did the unthinkable. They broke our hearts and stole a 4 month old male puppy named Ross. He was a brindle, bulldog/mastiff mix. While he was only with us for a week he was loved by all of our staff, but was still very shy and scared of strangers.

While they also took equipemnt and our cash box with all of our weekly deposits, it is the loss of Ross that left us devastated!

Campaign Details

Best Friends Humane Society is a small non-profiot humane society located in Worth County, Ga. We provide animal rescue and protection for the third largest county in Georgia. We take in over 400 cats and dogs each year and adopt out over 86% of those. Each of our animals and our adopting families become part of our Best Friends family.

Our organization depends on donations and fundraising as it accounts for over 60% of our budget. Like most rescues and shelters, we operate day to day and depend on our extended family for spport.

On March 4, 2016 someone cut into the rear of our building and broke the safety and security that we had held so near and dear to our hearts. We have always been here to help the animals of our communty and to think that their safety was at risk right in our own shelter was unthinkable.  The theive(s) took computers, medical supplies, cash and suppplies but most importantly they did the unthinkable and stole one of our Best Friends, a 4 month old puppy named Ross. Ross was a loving male brindle bulldog puppy. He had been here only a week but was loved by the entire staff. He was however still shy and timid around strangers.

Your donation will help replace the items taken during the burglary and help with the installation of camera security systems at both our 14 kennel intake facility and our 48 kennel adoption center. The camera system will help ensure that all of our Best Friends will be safe and secure and we never have to lose another Ross again.

If you can please share our story and help us reach our goal. Every amount helps and will make a difference. Your donation to this campaign will help us recover from this event and continue to provide for our Best Friends!
